The Level 3 Award in Independent Advocacy for Children is to give learners the opportunity to demonstrate achievement of the knowledge, skills and understanding required to provide high quality independent advocacy support to children.
About this qualification
This qualification is aimed at local authority staff, children's rights officers, complaints officers, charity workers, or practitioners transitioning into children's advocacy. The course covers the principles, policy and practice underpinning children's advocacy services, and trauma-informed advocacy for children. The course has a 22 guided learning hours requirement and a total qualification time of 30 hours.

Entry Requirements
This course is open to anyone aged 18 or over with a minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience in children's health, education, or social care settings. You will need a current Enhanced DBS check and minimum Level 2 Safeguarding training. Preferably you should have access to a workplace or placement as an independent advocate.
Assessment
The course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence including coursework, recorded discussions, and holistic workplace observations. This is a regulated qualification monitored by awarding bodies and Ofqual.
What can I do after completion?
This qualification confirms competency to deliver children's advocacy services and counts towards CPD to support internal progression.
