This qualification enables you to assess occupational competence in the work environment. Entry Requirements
This assessor course is open to anyone who is working in a learning and development environment and has access to two candidates and assessment opportunities in the workplace. You need to demonstrate competency by having qualifications or experience in the subject area you want to assess. You will also be expected to have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
Assessment
The course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence. You will normally be expected to complete written assignments for Unit 1. You will need to support and assess at least two candidates in their workplace, carrying out observations of practice, questioning, and reviewing evidence. There should be evidence of planning assessments, giving feedback, and participating in standardisation activities.
What can I do after completion?
Once qualified, you can assess learners in their workplace. You can go on to complete the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) to also assess in classroom and workshop environments, or any other learning and development courses.
