About this qualification

This qualification is designed for those who want to qualify as a lead internal verifier. The course enables you to moderate any courses you are occupationally competent. Candidates who have already achieved the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice, V1 or D34 can upgrade their qualification at a discount. The course has a 115 hours guided learning requirement and you are usually expected to complete within 3 to 15 weeks.

How long is this course?

Completion time depends on several factors including your available study time, access to assessors, and prior experience. We expect learners to complete within 3 to 15 weeks.

Entry Requirements

This course is open to anyone who has quality assurance duties within a learning and development environment. You will be expected to have access to at least two assessors and be a team leader. You will be expected to have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills. All learners should have access to the internet and a word processor.

Assessment

The course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence. You will normally be expected to complete written assignments for the theory part. You will need to support at least two assessors and carry out quality assurance duties. There should be evidence of sampling evidence, giving feedback, standardisation and promoting professional development. For the third unit, you need to demonstrate how you have led a team and worked in line with a work plan.

What can I do after completion?

Once qualified, you become a recognised lead NVQ Internal Verifier or Moderator. You can go on to complete any other learning and development courses or the Level 4 Award in Understanding External Quality Assurance.
