The NOCN Level 5 Award in Understanding Digital Leadership in Adult Social Care is designed for adult social care leaders and managers who want to build the confidence and capability to lead the use of technology in the delivery of care, driving digitisation within their organisation and improving outcomes for people who draw on care and support.

About this qualification

This qualification has been developed to meet the criteria determined by the Department of Health and Social Care and meets the General Conditions of Recognition set out by Ofqual. It is aimed at those who work directly in and support the adult social care sector at a senior level. The award enables leaders to drive digitisation within their organisation, lead and support their wider workforce to develop skills and confidence with technology, and lead a positive culture of learning and continuous improvement of care services.

We expect learners to complete the course within 6 to 12 weeks depending on their study pace.

Entry Requirements

This award is aimed at those who work directly in and support the adult social care sector at a senior level within their organisation. Learners should demonstrate they can manage higher level study at Level 5 and should be qualified to at least a Level 3 qualification. The learner must understand the current adult social care sector. Ideally, they will be in a role which provides opportunity to demonstrate leadership, introduce the use of technology in the delivery of care, and improve outcomes for people who draw on care and support. Learners must be at least 18 years of age.

Assessment

This is a knowledge-based qualification. The learner must compile a portfolio of evidence demonstrating how they have met the learning outcomes and assessment criteria. Achievement of a work-based project as a summative assessment method is required, which is central and linear to the qualification outcomes. An example could be how the learner incorporates learning to achieve plans to introduce technology in the adult social care workplace. This is a regulated qualification monitored by awarding bodies and Ofqual.

What can I do after completion?

This qualification supports progression into and within a range of adult social care leadership roles, including Registered Managers, senior practitioners, deputy and assistant managers, operational and regional managers, and other key roles such as local authority commissioners and digital roles within Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).

There are no hidden fees. Payment is required within 5 days of booking. This qualification is eligible for funding through the Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS) administered by the Department of Health and Social Care.
