Level 2 Diploma in Care
This Level 2 Diploma in Care has been specified by the two sector skills councils responsible for the health and adult care workforces, Skills for Health and Skills for Care, in consultation with employers, learning providers and those who use services. The qualification has core shared knowledge and skills that support the vision of employers providing integrated services.
About this qualification
This qualification is designed for adult care workers, healthcare assistant and support workers, and personal assistants. The course has a 305 guided learning hours requirement and a total qualification time of 460 hours. Candidates must achieve a minimum 35 credits to be awarded the qualification.

How long is this course?
We expect learners to complete the course within 3 to 6 months depending on study pace and access to workplace evidence.
Entry Requirements
This course has no specific entry requirements. Learners will be expected to have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills. You are required to have access to the internet, computer and a word processor. You should be working in or have access to a care setting.
Assessment
The course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Assessment methods include prior learning, assignments, reflective accounts, witness statements, questioning, observations of practice and work products.
What can I do after completion?
You can go on to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care or higher education qualifications.
